SexonCam Wow! Thank goodness we went back and rechecked the URL for SexOnCam, which was down for the count last time we tried it. Otherwise we would have missed out on a nice little site, one of the few UK-based adult chat sites that we've ever seen. Oh, it's not perfect -- there are some serious issues that need to be taken care of before it gets to that point -- but the fact of the matter is that every girl on the site is, by definition, a homegirl. That's enough to make the ol' neurons sit up and take notice. Too bad there's no sound -- we can’t get enough of those UK accents. Guess we'll have to settle for those dangerous curves instead.  Although it's UK-based, the models at SexonCams aren't exclusively British. There are a couple of International Girls, and when we say a couple, that's what we mean: two. You see, though SexonCam is attractive and well done, it's very small. Think of it as a boutique chat site, if you will. This is sweet and all, but in our not-so-humble opinion, that's one of the things that makes it less than perfect. While the performers are indeed homegirls (and boys, for that matter), their numbers are sadly limited. There are 21 UK girls, one (!) boy, two International Girls, two boy/girl couples, and nothing more, though there are categories set aside for Lesbians, Gay Men, Shemales and Trannies, and Bizarre and Strange. Unsurprisingly, the small size of the performer population makes it difficult to find someone to work with at any particular time; but if you do find someone at home when you check, expect them to be, well, Anglo. That shouldn't be a surprise, considering that this is, after all, a British website; however, you'd expect the occasional black or Asian girl, considering the cosmopolitan nature of the British population. But no such luck here. Despite the small roster, the management has made an effort to make life easier for the users. If you look at the graphic up above, you'll see a handy "Performer Schedules" link. Not every performer has her times scheduled on the site, but some do, so it's easy to determine the best time to come back and take a look. You don't even have to wrack your brains trying to figure out the time zone conversion: the site does it for you. It’ll take a look at where you're linking in from, and automatically reset the times to your time zone. Cool, huh? For example, since we're in Texas, our time zone is the GMT -06:00 one. But! If you like, you can select another time zone from a drop-down list just for fun, and the times will reset to accommodate that zone. Apparently, the site will set itself to your country's currency, too, because when we clicked the "Top Up Credit" link, it took us to a page where we could pay in dollars. (We're assuming that Euros are the currency of choice if you come from elsewhere in the world). Specifically, we had the option of purchasing five credits for $15, ten for $30, or 25 for $75, using either our Visa or MasterCard. Incidentally, you have to become a member before you purchase credits, but that's a simple matter. Just provide a username, password, and an email address, and you're in. As it turns out, one credit = one minute. Not exactly cheap, but it's about what you would expect of first-world adult chat. Oh, and if you pick the ten-credit option you get one free, with three free for the 25 credit option. Again, so-so, but at least they're trying. One thing that wasn't all that impressive was the fact that you can only make one purchase of credits per 24 hours, for fraud protection reasons. Another problem with SexOnCam is that most of the pages take too long to load. We checked this on more than one computer several times, and on average it took the site a minute or more to completely download a new page. Sorry, SexonCam, but this is not acceptable in an adult chat site. The problem seems to be that the pages are all carved up into dozens of tiny graphics, and that they have to download one after the other before you're done. Until the speed issue is fixed, keep in mind that visiting SexonCams is enormously annoying. So annoying, in fact, that we were tempted to give them a bad review because of it. But we decided to hold off; once the pages are cached, navigation is quite easy, and the picture quality is pretty good. To summarize, SexonCam is a decent little site, with the emphasis on "little." All the performers are home-based -- girls, guys, and couples alike -- but the roster is dismayingly small. Even though the site is apparently at least months old -- I first found the URL about seven months prior to this writing -- it seems somewhat unfinished; but maybe it's just rebuilding after a while offline. That would explain its absence when we tried to find it before. At any rate, our recommendation is that you check the SexonCam out, but don't expect much at this point.
